THE CHALLENGE

Creative Brief

Starting a new business is a big commitment — especially when you’re working full-time, Vice President of an active not-for-profit board of directors, and very involved in your community. That was the dilemma facing Careerable Founder and Chief Enabled Careerist Katie Smith in late 2013 when she began to build her career coaching company.

Working with a traditional creative agency was cost-prohibitive for her self-funded startup. She considered hiring freelancers herself, but she didn’t have time to find and manage the diverse team she needed to bring her ideas to life. She needed someone to manage the creative process on her behalf so she could focus on building her business plan, attracting clients, and doing what she did best — helping people find their dream careers.

THE SOLUTION

Creative Approach

We kicked things off by creating the Careerable brand, business cards, templates, and core messaging. A professional photo shoot followed, and the custom imagery helped convey the approachable and supportive brand across all marketing materials. We then developed Careerable’s client-facing deliverables, scripted and shot a promotional video, and custom designed and developed an SEO-optimized, responsive WordPress website.

Update 2019: Careerable sought our assistance naming and branding its UpStart new manager training program. We also developed collateral for project kickoffs.

Hiring CQB was hands-down the best decision I could have made when starting my business.

Katie Smith, Founder, Careerable

Starting a business while working full-time is tough. I had many weeks when I was too busy to dedicate time to Careerable. But, I knew that my CQB team was hard at work behind the scenes and moving forward on my behalf.

I needed agency-quality work that wasn’t cost or time prohibitive for a small business like mine.
